Global Terrorism may have declined, but still remains a cause of concern as it reinvents itself. Sri Lanka’s success in countering this evil is based on a politico-military strategy that may not work for others in the subcontinent. The alternative is a multilateral forum like SAARC
THE AMERICAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION (APA), attributing its view to an interesting study on terrorism, reveals that people who are more open to terrorist recruitment and radicalisation tend to feel annoyed, isolated and disenfranchised. Further, those people identify themselves alongside the victims of the social injustice, thus willing to fight against such inequalities. They believe in acting against the social injustice around them by unleashing violence against the State. For them it is the best way to find solutions to their problem. They also have some family members or friends sympathetic to their cause.
