US’s interest in the Indo–Pacific is long term; and its free and open strategy is shared with stakeholders like India in the region.
Moses had asked me to talk today about the US Indo-Pacific Strategy: specifically, what is American vision for the Indo-Pacific Region? Before I do that, allow me a few soundbites on the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKIAPCSS) located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Center directly reports to the Office of the Security of Defense and my immediate superior is Assistant Secretary for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs, Secretary Randy Schriver. My Center also has a very close mission partner relationship with Admiral Philip S. Davidson, Commander of the Indo-Pacific Command based in Honolulu.
