BRICS Leads the Way on Environmental Governance


The first full cycle of meetings of BRICS (an acronym for its members: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) is already part of history; and this year we are witnessing the start of a new round. Even though there is a pronounced desire on the part of the BRICS’ constituents themselves to continue working together, we once again see a surge in discussions on the viability of the group.
While it is clear, that full convergence still eludes the BRICS nations on a number of issues, climate change included, the ‘Big Five’ still appear destined to work together on common problems and work joint solutions.
