Russia Seeks to Revive the Primakov Triangle with India and China

The first decade of the third millennium witnessed the formation of several newly forged associations and regional organisations. Further, there has been keen interest in participating in such regional alliances from countries representing diverse structural systems, of differing sizes of economy and of varying natural, human and military potential. Among these are both developed and developing countries, the weak as well as the superpowers.
These groupings, involving neighbouring states as well as those located on different continents such as Russia-India-China, India-Brazil-South Africa and Brazil-Russia-India-China-plus South Africa (BRICS) are all new or not so new alliances. Some nations have in fact decided to be involved in more than regional and sub-regional organisations as well as non institutionalised groups.
